Music is going to die?

i am all for trying new things with music, but what seems to piss me off is ppl who break music down, they do something unique with it ( which is cool, i like that) but they break it down, and a big part of the music necessiarly isnt music at all, and then they can honestly criticize and say the roots of music, the older more "stick to the basics" music music, is bullshit. you can say this to the genre of screamo, and rap as well. literally rapping isn't music at all, nethier is screaming. alone im saying. i love those genres however. but wat i despise is lots of ppl who love this kind of music, look down or no nothing about and talk **** about music with vocalists and amazing musicianship . i guess it pisses me off when ppl say "I love music, but **** the classics". i say u cant really love music music, if u dont see some kind of amazement or likeness to classical music, or older music. i just think if ppl keep goin that way, we will lose the idea of actual music

Reply:Well imagine being in my position and wanting to keep all the great traditional music on the radio and the suits don't think anyone wants to hear it so there we go. Its an abomination and if someone doesn't step up and do SOMETHING about it music will surely die.

Reply:yea i guess alot of ppl dont know what real music is..we can thank the ppl that brought all this new ****. rap is terrible..its dumb **** some thugs came up with...sure theres a few songs i like that doesnt matter it seems that rap is takin ppl futher away from music to be "cool" just like skipping school to be "cool" and countless other things alot of ppl grow outta this kinda stuff but some are dumb. but i personally think its just a phase no telling what music could bring.
Reply:Nah, dude. Ppl respect the roots, the classics, but of course they are going to want to do new **** with it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.





Some great new bands are Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, and Transatlantic. Try those bands if you think music is bad right now.
