How do you think music is today? was it better back then?

I personally feel that music has gone down hill. Back then music meant something. people sang from the heart. every now and then we get a good song playing on the radio, but most of the time all we're hearing is noise. I don't find it meaningful, i find it a way to use time. for some stuff, i don't even understand how there "music" is considered music.





Back then music was clean, there are ways to express feelings without saying every word in the book, somehow we lost this knowledge.





Don't get me wrong, I LOVE music in general, including music of today. I just would like to know how others feel, sometimes i think i'm the only one who feels this way, so i would like to know...





what do you think of music of today in contrast with the music from the 80'-90's and other past times?

The reason why I think we hear more CRAP music is because we are all connected now through internet, television, ect- so there is a bigger opportunity to make money off of it. There was more of a far out chance back in the day of being a musician, so for the most part- only the people with a real passion and dedication went for it. Now anybody who have a mixer, and a fake tan can go for it- therefore more BS to weed through.


So, I don't think there is an answer to your question. There is no way to say whether music has gone downhill because its so cluttered, ect. Its all about opinion. I like lots of music from different times and genres. GOOD music is what I like. But I actually do lean more towards 50s style songs.
