Music suggestions for conservative mother-in-law?

I'm trying to introduce my mother-in law to some new music that she'd like, but she's super-conservative and only likes country christian for now. She certainly doesn't like rap, hip hop, swearing, or music about romance. I need suggestions for some new music she might like. She was growing up in the 40's and 50's, but she said she doesn't like that era's music anymore.

She likes Jars of Clay and the contemporary christian (not hymn) music, but I'm looking to introduce her to something differant and preferably more tolerable to me, as neither myself nor my wife are christian.

Suggestions?

Music suggestions for conservative mother-in-law?
Try David Byrne. My mom is the same way, but she likes David Byrne.
Reply:I must ask, how open minded she is?

because if she is like my parents wich is so close minded, i don't think you should introduce them to any kind of new music, because they will reject anything, they will learn to like new things by their own, not by anyone's intentions, not even you or their own children.

because my parentswas just like so...

While if they're quiet open minded, you can introduce them to almost anykind of music with an adequate explanation before it.

But, if she's so open minded, i don't think you need to do so, since she will explore on her own...

But, really there's nothing i could suggest until i met and really know what kind of person she is...

Hope this help

Bless You
Reply:a rocking jazz!
Reply:watch the movie o brother whereart thou with her if she likes the movie she'll love the soundtrack plus you kill two birds with one stone..
Reply:Marilyn Manson. :-)
Reply:My suggestion is to become more secure in your own convictions. If the music is not bothersome on a sonic level (too loud and such) than the message should be irelevant for a truly secure person. If she likes it she likes it.
Reply:Why do you feel a need to change her musical preferences? Are you living with her? Do you ride in the car with her? Ask her to turn it off. It may be YOU need to change your musical preferences.
Reply:Mat Kearney - Nothing Left to Lose

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

The Fray - Look After You

Amy Millan - Baby I

....I can think of more, but I need time!
Reply:you mustn't try radiohead.
Reply:wow that is conservative beyond beleif and from the comments you left im sorry you were dealt this bad hand at entertaining such a guest. but some dean martin or frank sinatra. or you could give the ol' 1930-1940 german music a shot...sorry she does sound really conservative not trying to be a jerk.
Reply:NAtalie Cole, Frank Sinatra - Duets, Tony Benet Duets

An American Classic. Rene Olstead
Reply:Maybe Celine Dion or Barbara Streisand.
Reply:JAZZZZZZZ

Try John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Or some newer jazz like Marcus Miller.
Reply:Michael Buble, Norah Jones, Josh Groban or Carrie Underwood......maybe not hard enough for you though
Reply:anna nalick! anything by anna nalick. her voice is awesome and she's a clean singer-- no swear words. really. hmm. or for something a little older try the corrs. anna nalick isn't really about romance so that might work. sandi thom! haha let her try "i wish i was a punkrocker (with flowers in her hair)". or "lonely girl".

she might like carrie underwood too. "don't forget to remember me"; but maybe not "before he cheats". :)

oh i forgot. Jem too. she does some christian stuff, but has pretty tolerable easy listening alternative tunes as well... no overt romance in there either.
