I am a music lover. I am not in my early 20's. This love of music --listening only -- since I do not play any instrument is making me think twice that with all the new "gadgets" flooding the market I could buy an instrument, practice and play at the same and listen to music I like while playing and contributing. Given those conditions what would be an instrument to look for (synthetiser, karoaka or others --) that will give me a good opportunity to play and listen --as a hobby. Best answers and helpful guidance appreciated. I do love the sound of a guitar or jazz music -- conclusion all my own music making will be for myself. No spectators are envisaged. The learning curve should be "relatively short" and price of the instrument affordable. Looking for your excellent suggestions, thanks in advance.
Music and more music -- some informative and helpful suggestions, please.?
If you buy a keyboard that has midi, you can record songs on your computer. you can also make different sounds of instruments.
Hope this helps!!
Reply:Guitar and keyboard will be the best option for instrument that match your desire (you'll need to study a bit, but for a fundamental level, this two are easy enough to learn by a self-help book).
Any keyboard this days has midi output and input to plug to Computer, While you can plug electric guitar/accoustic guitar with a mic to your computer if you have an adeguate Sound card.
And there are computer software that'll help:
* Finalle or Sybellius: for writing music by notation and sounded by soundcard - midi;
* Cakewalk - Sonar or Cubase: for recording with mic-electric guitar/synthesizer-keyboard and add some midi either by note or by graphic, etc.
If you don't know music notation very well i would advice you to use the Cakewalk-Sonar Home Studio
Hope this Help
Bless You
