Today's music...your opinion?

My opinion is .....it sucks. I love music, it's a big part of my life. I recently started listening to a lot of old school music. It so rocks! Now I'm wishing I was around during the 70's and 80's. When is this music industry gonna start promoting REAL talent? There are some good artists out there. I see Mr. Jackson's making a comeback soon. I listened to some of his new songs from the thriller 25 album. Basically, they're tracks with his voice from the 80's remixed with some hip-hop beats......c'mon. What ways can we bring the music industry to a point of revolution or evolution? I am not the only person who agrees that music is going down hill. As I said before, there are a number of talented artists out there today. But not enough. When will music we can dance to return. Good music. Music where we HEAR INSTRUMENTS! Music we can sing aloud with out having to avoid swear words! Is it just me? How can we change? I want to take part!

Today's music...your opinion?
Well I agree that a lot of today's music is pretty sterile or unpleasant to listen to.

I grew up with Glam Rock and the new Romantics etc but we also still had the Supremes and ABBA were on the scene.

But my dad thought this music was terrible and even though it was my 'era' I didn't like Punk Rock.

Music is subjective and if there is so much stuff around you don't like someone must like it for it to get so much air time.

The best thing I can suggest (seriously) is sit down and right some lyrics about the music that is lost and see if you can get it put to some music.
Reply:old music like that freakin sucks. i like the new country, pop, and rock. screw all the old stuff
Reply:I love todays music
Reply:All record companies care about is making dollars. As long as hip-hop and swearwords sell huge units, that's going to dominate. If people stop buying, then the record companies will look for something else they CAN sell.

As far as today's music "sucking" I think you need to look for things outside of what you hear on the mainstream radio dial. There are great artists out there if you look for them.
Reply:60's 70's %26amp; 80's. Pretty much downhill after that.
Reply:I so agree with you. I hate all the new bands and singers out right now. They all sound the same. I wish I had grown up in the 70s and 80s. My mom tells me about her concert days and they sound so much better than our generation. I love old school music and the true rock gods!
Reply:old school rocks!!!! 80'sssss!!!! :p
Reply:I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I remember my mom saying that the music I listened to was awful. I thought it was great. Now I say the same thing to my kids and I think I sound just like my mom. I think in general music has gone downhill but I think that there are some fantastically talented people making music right now: Alicia Keys, Christina Aguerila, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, heck I even like Eminem (he is a genius but I could do without some of the swearing.) Personally, I was a huge fan of MJ's in the 80's but I refuse to listen to him anymore because I think he is a creep.

I think the way you change things is to support the artists that you do like.
Reply:todays music sucks.
Reply:i think todays music is more about the quick dollar more than the love of music its more about how can i get this lil bit of money fast and easy and do the least amount of work to get it

nowadays music is at an all-time low people dont care to give their all to music no more which is y u see decreasing record sales all the time and teh ones who do have talent dont sell there are some amazing vocal talents of todays time that arent recognized the way they should be mario is one of todays greats ne-yo as well but these guys are constantly looked over again and again and the credit is given to the omarions and marues houston guys who cant sing to save their lives its horrible just horrible
Reply:Well I've always listened to old school music, but that's just because I like old school music. Today's music talks about the same thing, and LOVE isn't really one of them. Raheem DaVaughn still sings about love, and his new CD Love beyond the Melody just came out today. I think the music industry is just trying to keep up with the times. Unitl we decide we won't by music from talentless artist, then they continue to put it out.
Reply:I hate it!!!!!!!! It's not even music, it's pure CRAP!!! Everything that you've just said is right on point!!
Reply:I like both but music from the 80's and 90's were better
Reply:Yeah dude i no what u mean i like 80 music the most it actually has beats to it and it just so...Perfect ya no

but thos days are gone

the stuff on mtv suks also with fuse.

you have to go underground to find any thing worth listening to.

the stuff sounds all the same nowa days. thats why you have to find the underground stuff.

music is also a big part of my life my cd collection has about 900 cds in it, and almost all of it is underground.

as far as 80s music tho i agree with you. it was the best years of music. damn i wish it was the 80s
