Music At Amusement Parks?

During the operating season i work as a lead ride operator at an amusement park I work at two major coasters and one of the major water rides and was wondering what kind of music would go with the rides.

The first coaster is wooden, the 2nd is one that lauchnes you at 70 mph and the water ride is the boat that goes up turns and drops you.

I have heard form many guests that the music is baciscally the same at every ride and that the music doesn't suit most of the rides. They say that at the 2nd coaster we should play "high tech" music and the wooden one should be more older music, and the water ride should have music that feels like your at the beach or something like that.

The crew from these rides have been brainstorming and came up with a few ideas, but each ride's cd player can have up to five mp3 cds which holds about 500 songs or more.

Also we were thinking of doing days when we would do themes at each ride like movies, TV, oldies, or decades.

ANY Help is great.

Music At Amusement Parks?
For the woodie I'd suggest either western or 20's era music such as ragtime style music. All of this depends on where the ride is located and the themeing of the ride if there is any.

For the steelie I'd suggest techno or some form of rock music that builds since it is a launched coaster. Something that starts off slow then blasts off then comes down for a smooth landing.

For the water ride I suggest some form of island style music. I've noticed on some rides of this nature steel drum music works really well. That is if it's themed for that style of music. If it has more of a rustic theme I'd suggest 20's - 40's era folk music such as John Henry or Working on the Railroad, etc.
Reply:What park is this? Is the 2nd one the V2?

Well anyway rides can just sometimes have "theme park music"

But if the wooden is meant to be old themed either do western or something. the 2nd one should be techno. the last should be island, something like hawaii or jamaica. unless its a water ride where you are in a car. then do a jungle themed type thing
Reply:i guess you can look at people in which age group rides it mostly like if its teenagers well you can play a music that suits the teenagers but at the same time the mood of the ride.
