Music at 24-hour fitness clubs-Whats up with it?

ISSUE: I've e-mailed and called the corporate HQ of 24 hour fitness complaining about the crappy music thats played at the clubs. I know Im not the only one who has comlained about this issue over the years. It's stressful and frustrating to be subjected to being forced to endure the hip-hop and other crap they constantly play. Additionally, the volume is often played so loud that even with earbuds or cup-type headphones and the volume turned all the way up, the club music still comes through. When working out with firends, we often have to yell or talk very loud to be heard. The easy and fair solution is simply to stop playing music. If people want music, let them bring thier own and wear headphones. They do that wit the TVs, they could just as easily do that with thier music.

QUESTIONS:

1. Does anyone

a.Have any insite as to why 24hr continues to force its members to listen to this crappy music?

b. Have any ideas on who to specifically complain to, or how resolve this?

That crappy music, though mindless %26amp; repetitive, is energizing. They are trying to put a little pep in your step! There is no genre that will please everyone, but I have noticed that when I used to work out at a franchized fitness club, the crappy music had a tempo that made me move MUCH faster...even when I really despised a song.
Reply:24 hour gym ? I'll listen to the crappy music just to have one of those in my neighborhood.
Reply:Complain to the owner/manager and it woud make more of an impression on him/her to have some of the others who don't like it, to attend with you. If the owner gives you flack, tell them you are cancelling your membership and will not be recommending their place to your friends. They hate that kind of publilcity!
Reply:They want to be politically correct, Sweetie; at ANY price!
Reply:stop patronizing the gym and let them know about it.
