Music Is Dead Forever!!?

Being born in the early 70's i have heard some of the best songs and artists ever, i play guitar and love music from 50's to 80's with 80's being my favourite, in my opinion music died from 1994 onwards, now we are plagued with crap singers rubbish songs and artists who earn more money than you could ever dream of!! It's all about being young and fasionable nowadays and not about the music, I mean we have gone from

classical prodigys like mozart and beethoven to POSH SPICE!!!!! She is practically hand fed grapes and treated like royalty and she has'nt got any talent whatsoever, it makes me so angry i want to punch someone!!! Music used to tell a story with emotion and feeling now they might as well sing a song about peeling a banana!!!! I blame a lot of it on 50 something year old bored house wives who see a young boy band all blond and skinny and thay say things like ( he's got lovely hair, ain't he nice!! ) i am going to buy there albulm!!, you would think that being in there 50's they would appreciate old music but they have been brain washed like all the other dead beats out there who would'nt know what music was if it kicked them in the ****!!!!!! It makes me really sad knowing that we will all die never hearing a good song or band ever again, money seems to be the overriding factor now and has turned people lazy, arrogant, rude, and self absorbed. Music seems to be so hyped up now it's ridiculous, for instance you will be watching the telly and it will say something like ( here is the breathtaking brilliant new albulm from blah blah!!!) and i think who the f**k are they, and when they play a snippet of one of there tracks it's guess what - Crap!!!!!. I think someone should invent a time machine so we can all go back to when great britain was great, something wrong has happened to this country that can never be got back.

Music Is Dead Forever!!?
I agree 100%....im 17 and i wish i was from back then because of all the great music..nowadays lyrics are crap and no one can sing like they did back when...its not about talent anymore its about whats in style...lyrics used to mean something.....it would tell a story...and now...well its all pretty much crap...music truly is dead....
Reply:You start out by lamenting the demise of popular music and end with a lament over what sounds like the demise of the empire.

Every generation appreciates the music that was popular when it was young. My parents didn't get the Beatles. I have no tolerance forTool. My kids ( now grown ), don't like rap.

We all wish that they could just hear what WE hear.

At least there are those who have set standards of excellence (perhaps not always appreciated ), those keepers of the flame, whose standards have been consistent for generations. They are those that love / play classical music. Are there players anywhere, that can surpass the technical proficiency of the finest classical players? Only a fool would attempt such idiocy.Who makes compositions superior to those of Mozart? Or Bach? What has been is far better than that which is. Seeing the folly of what is , is much easier than seeing the greatness or folly of what has passed. Don't ask me why.
Reply:ROBBIE WILLIAMS!
Reply:you just need to accept change and be open to possibilities, music will only die when nobody wants to listen to it anymore/
Reply:no tupac is making a new song in his hidden attic right now, it will be out soon!
Reply:ok
Reply:Holy crap... did Posh really peeve you that bad? Forget about her... she's useless (at least as a musician)!
Reply:Hey I am a stay at home mom and I still love my Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd and The Doors. Don't blame it on us because music has gone to hell. I like some of the new stuff. I love Oasis, Nickelback, White Stripes, Jet, Foo Fighters etc. There is no comparison to classic rock but hey now all the stuff I listened to in the 80's is considered classic rock. That scares me. I never thought MY stuff would become CLASSIC.

I hope you have gotten rid of your mullet by now but I do here they are making a come back.
Reply:there are some newer good bands not many but they are there. Just got to open your heart alittle. Reply:im a 60s-80s lover myself.. and at a young age, i feel sad for the music industry already.. i agree that most artists right now are commercialized and put to the field for the sake of earning.. and its sad to know that those artists hu in my opinion do good more than the ones mainstream are left independent.. im a lover of indie bands/artists.. i believe they express more as an artist..
Reply:oh no!!!
